How artisans are vetted

Every artisan on MadeMay is reviewed by our curation team before their profile is published. This is how we maintain quality across the platform.

What we look for

Our curation team evaluates each artisan application based on: - Portfolio quality -- The craftsmanship, consistency, and presentation of their work. - Experience -- Their background and track record as a maker. - Process clarity -- Whether they can clearly articulate how they work and what clients can expect. - Category fit -- Whether their practice fits within Painting or Sculpture.

Ongoing quality

Vetting does not stop at approval. If we receive reports of poor conduct, misrepresentation, or consistently negative buyer experiences, we will review the artisan's standing on the platform and take appropriate action.

What this means for buyers

When you browse MadeMay, you can trust that every artisan you see has been individually reviewed. This is not an open marketplace where anyone can list -- it is a curated platform built on quality and trust.
