Sir Peanut

Subject: Pet portraits
Medium: Pastel
Dimensions: 11x14
Created: 2026

Sir Peanut is a custom pet portrait that blends a faithful likeness with a more imaginative, old-world presentation. The portrait captures the subject’s recognizable features and personality while adding formal styling and a touch of humor to create something more distinctive than a traditional pet portrait. The clothing, pose, and atmosphere give the piece a whimsical, storybook quality while keeping the animal at the heart of the artwork. It is an example of how a custom portrait can remain personal and true to the pet while also becoming something theatrical, playful, and completely one-of-a-kind. Created entirely by hand in soft pastel, Sir Peanut reflects my approach to custom pet portraiture: capturing a beloved animal with care while offering the option to make the portrait realistic, imaginative, or somewhere in between.
