Jo and Barney

by Cynthia Kinard

Subject: Portraits
Medium: Oil paint
Dimensions: 20x16
Created: 2009

This is a portrait of a well-known pilot and her dachshund. It is painted on canvas using the 16 and 17th century techniques of the Old Masters.

The outcome

In particular, Jo was pleased that I had even painted her rings, because the one on the first finger was purchased in Israel. She, her brother and sister-in-law went there soon after Jo and her brother had accepted Jesus as their Savior and the two were baptized in the Jordan River. So, including the ring in the portrait made it extra special to her.
