Toucan on a Branch

Subject: Wildlife
Medium: Watercolor
Dimensions: 6 × 4 in (W × H)

An original watercolor on paper depicting a colorful toucan resting on a branch. This wildlife piece highlights the vivid colors of its unique beak and tropical beauty.

The commission story

created this piece for the Winsor & Newton Art Mail contest. Toucans are one of my favorite tropical birds because of their exotic charm and vibrant colors. I approached this watercolor by focusing on the bright, playful tones of its beak and feathers, capturing the natural beauty and curiosity of this amazing bird.

The outcome

The final watercolor successfully brings out the lively spirit and rich colors of the toucan. Since this postcard will be displayed and sold through the Winsor & Newton exhibition, I hope it brings a cheerful pop of nature and color to whoever takes it home.
