“Deepest Emotion” is a black-and-white oil portrait on paper depicting a man holding his beloved dog, Figaro, close to his face. The quiet pose and physical closeness express tenderness, trust, and the deep emotional bond between them.

The commission story

This commissioned portrait was created from the client’s photograph to express the man’s love for Figaro. I carefully preserved the natural gesture of the embrace, the man’s emotion, and Figaro’s calm, trusting expression, using fine layers of oil paint and the dry brush technique.

The outcome

The finished portrait captures a deeply personal moment and transforms it into a lasting work of art celebrating the bond between a person and his dog. “Deepest Emotion” received two 1st Place awards at the 2020 American Art Awards, in Expressionism – Human Figure and Expressionism – Other, judged by representatives of 25 leading galleries and museums in the United States. It also received an Honorable Mention in Grey Cube Gallery’s 2021 Portrait exhibition.
